Is this the same cold or a new one?

And how much longer?!!

It started 10 days ago with a very runny nose, you know, the kind where you are constantly clutching a tissue and you nose goes all sore and flaky from all the wiping. Felt more or less OK in myself though. After a couple of days the nose was less runny, but slight sore throat developed, still wouldn't say I felt ill. At the end of last week, it was pretty much better, slight tickly cough, but not feeling ill at all.

Saturday, nose started again and has been constant ever since. Have also developed the kind of cough that keeps you awake for hours and feel terrible.

Surely a cold only lasts a few days....please?

Allergies? Could be hay fever?

I did wonder Megan, but does hayfever make you cough?

My neighbour sneezes a lot in the summer and gets an awful cough.

Another neighbour has a bad cough at the moment but no cold and thinks it is the pollen from the trees that have all bloomed together this year as late.

However, coughs from colds can last for weeks sometimes.
When I had them, if it went on too long and with sleepless nights, my GP gave me ABs and it soon cleared up.
