Hello, im a 23 year old female with a BMI of 30 (overweight i know) i have two children, the most recent was born 9 months ago.
I have had CONSTANT vaginal bleeding and pain since the birth. I have had an ultrasound which came back clear a few months ago.
I recently went back to the doctors as the bleeding hasn't stopped with Norethisterone tablets. She did an internal (which was EXTREMELY painful) and concluded that i have a bulky uterus to the left.
She also wanted to do a smear but couldn't due to the amount of blood. I am being rescheduled for another scan. I have been having AWEFUL pains since the internal too.
She said it could either be polyps, fibroids, cysts, tumours, or the big C. (ive had this doctor for a while; she knows to be honest with me.) Im worried that at my age im going to end up with a hysterectomy.
i just wondered if anyone had heard of Polyps/Fibroids etc in a woman of my age? or if any of you have had similar symptoms. thankyou in advance xxxxx

No experience just wanted to offer Brew and a bit of hand holding. Hopefully someone who knows will be along soon....

thankyou jiltedjohnsjulie i dont feel quite so alone now, i feel daft for assuming the worse but when you hear that most of these things only occur in older women you start to worry that it is something serious for it to happen to me so young. xx

Have you been referred to a gynaecologist yet? If not, I would go back to the GP and ask for a referral. One thing I've learnt as I've got older that if you think its serious, you really need to be persistent and keep the pressure on, otherwise you can wait ages.

she said once ive had the scan she will then refer me to a gynae. The problem i have is that i had this bleeding for 11months after giving birth to my son in 2010 and it stopped by me getting pregnant with my little girl and now ive had the bleeding for a further 9months but the pain is horrid. they wanted to do a smear back inbetween my little boy and my pregnancy with my little girl but it was the same, there was too much blood. i was in and out of hospital with the pain and they kept putting it down to PID Even though no infection was shown in my bloods (i didnt have any ultrasounds back then just swabs) while pregnant with my little girl they said there was a cyst on my left ovary but said it was normal and it would go. and no more was mentioned. My GP who is a Gynae is really worried that im bleeding so heavily and it is constant (some days its down to a trickle but then the next its back full force) they have tried me on the depo shot to try and stop the bleeding and now nortesterone but still no ease :(
it is really tempting to go to a&e so i can get a quicker referral to a gynae (i know this is realistically a waste of a&e's purpose but its got to be quicker than waiting for them to get back to me with a scan date?)
also to complicate matters i start a new job next week (which is why, if it is something more serious which requires me to be out of work then i would rather know sooner than later)
I just dont know what to do, or what it is. I am SO worried x

I'd phone and ask when the scan date is. Don't be fobbed off. If they can't tell you, phone again today, perhaps just before they close and keep phoning, preferably at the same time each day. If you have no joy by close of business tomorrow, I'd go to the GP on Monday and insist on a referral. Could you take someone with you for support? or just go to a&e like you said.

i handed the scan request form in to the doctors yesterday and they said it wouldnt be sent until today so i dont even think the hospital will recieve it till tomorrow but i will try, thankyou xxx
