How long should it last?

I'm 3 weeks post section and am still bleeding fresh blood. There's not a lot but its most definitely fresh as opposed to like end of a period.

Haemorrhaged during section and had to have a stitch put in uterus to stop bleed, not sure if this could be reason?

HV coming to see DS tomorrow so I can ask her then but wondered if anyone on here could put my mind at rest Wink

I don't now how long it' supposed to go on for,

but

I had 2 C-sections one emergency, the other elective, and both times the bleeding was for about 6 weeks.

Sorry, do you mean lochia? I bled for 8 weeks which is on the long end of the normal spectrum.

I wouldn't worry - my post CS bleeding lasted about 5 weeks (kept slowing down to brown blood & then back to red blood). Post birth bleeding can last up to 6 weeks so not to worry.

Yes, it can last weeks. Mine was still.going on at - and after - my 6 week post natal check.

Five weeks here. Kept stopping and starting too, very annoying when you think it's over and done with! I think advice is to see a dr if it goes smelly or you start passing big clots.
