Has anyone got experience of this - I had the triple therapy treatment a couple of months ago and while it was pretty nasty at the time I have felt better... up until this weekend that is - today has been hellish - has anyone had to do this treatment again - can you even do that ?

Yes, I had to have 2 rounds of antibiotics.

First round did diddley. I went back to Gp and he gave me a different combo which cleared me, although for a few months after I did keep getting a bit of acid, but took peppermint oil as was told (by doc) that the omeprazole (or whatever antacid type thing they give you) actually can do more harm than good as suppresses all stomach juices and some are necessary.

I reckon it took me about 6 mths in all to feel completely normal stomach wise.

The Gp also told me his policy with HP (he was very excited as he once did a paper on it) was to only treat twice with antibs and then just "have the patient learn to live with it") Thankfully I got clear after the second lot.

Try massively reducing the sugar in your diet and see what happens.
"Pure, White and Deadly" by John Yudkin, a book written ahead of its time. There's a section on gastric issues.
Keep a sugar diary and work out the grams you are eating each day. 50g is recommended - you may be shocked at how much you're consuming
