Blood glcose test

Hi Ladies,
I have just bought a home test kit for blood glucose but it doesn't say on the leaflet to test before or after food, does this mean it doesn't matter at what time you test?
sorry if this is a dim question but I just want to make sure I do it correctly. Thanks in advance.

Diabetics test two hours after food usually.

GP will test first thing before food. If its 7.2 or 7.1mmol first thing they class you as having diabetes.

No tea or coffee either, water only.

Good luck.

phew glad you posted again as I always have a large coffee first thing in the morning to get me going as I work early and always need the kick start. I probably would not have thought not to have it.thanks
