Had scan now gp wants to see me :(

I had a scan a week ago due to abdominal pain and today I have received a letter from gp to say that they have booked me an appointment. Is this normal after having a scan, I had one before but had no follow up,with gp after

They might want to discuss the results with you, and say what they have / haven't found. If scan didn't show anything they probably want to ask how you are now, what it could be if scan shows nothing or to suggest more tests to find out what your problem could be.

I've been through the same thing in recent weeks. Tests came back borderline hence the need to see me. Results were two unrelated cysts requiring two separate referrals. Not great but not the end of the world either. It really could be any number if things but even if the scans have shown nothing you still need to get to the cause of your abdominal pain.
