Take echinacea capsules regularly. Once a cold has set in they don't do anything but I found them to be a good preventative measure. Lack of sleep always results in me getting cold upon cold, are you getting enough? I went through a stage like this when I was permanently ill, the only thing that cured it was a fortnight of rest and relaxation in the sun. Gave my body the chance to build up a bit of resistance. Get well soon, colds are horrid.

Do you think the doctor would recommend a TWO ERRK REST IN THE SUN {GRIN?]

I feel for you makemeslim, I spent the whole of April and first week of May full of cold. I didn't get to the end of one before I got another. I blamed DH (who works at a hospital) and DS who is at nursery! Plus I have been run down with work, financial worries and most probably lacking in vitamins (I don't have a great diet - I rarely have breakfast and lunch is a bit of something and nothing and tea, well thats another story, lol).

This happened to me when i was younger op. Part of the problem i think for me was not letting my body fully recover when ill and hence i never fully got rid of it. The doc i saw suggested blood tests if it contimued but they never happened.

It was exactly what the doctor recommended! Fortunately, I had a fortnight in Cyprus booked well in advance of the colds.

are your iron and vit d levels at a good level?
after last (non)summer and the long winter it would not surprise me if vit d is low.

MisForMumNotMaid · 19/05/2013 19:34

Is it definitely a cold and not allergies like hay feaver/ dust mites/ laundry detergent/ new cleaning products etc?

Is there a pattern to the colds etc?

makemeslim · 19/05/2013 19:39

StrawberryMojito, I'll just have to wait for a break, i do feel that i don't give myself chance to recover, when i feel i'll tell me a mom who does, Maybe yes the echinacea is a good idea,, she says getting it out the cupboard Smile

I thought it was allergy yesterday morning so took antihistamine, however ended up sleeping half the day, then all night and have been back to bed this afternoon, whilst everyone else enjoyed the sun i wrapped up in two big jumpers and uggs ( took uggs of to go to bed !!)
