My mole is itchy and burning?

I've had a mole on my breast forever but over the last few days it has become itchy, sore, burning feeling and bled at times.

Going to the doctor is a gaff and you can never get an appointment and if you do you are shoved in and out ASAP, should I be other end or see if it stops.

I'm using the same washing powder & soap etc but maybe it's because it's getting warmer?

Go to your doctor, do not leave it.

Loving your NN, did you try many before randomly hitting the keys like that? Grin

There must be another reason why my normal shaped/coloured mole has started to hurt and bleed?

Briansbrain do go to the doctor. You must. Please.

BriansBrain · 05/05/2013 23:31

Agh but they don't care and whizz you in and out after leaving you late for work waiting for afternoons at a time.

It looks fine but it does become sore and itchy etc during the day and night.

Surely if it looks okay shape and colour wise the rest is just hormones or something - what could that something be?

Get it checked.

BriansBrain · 05/05/2013 23:56

Hurph, they will dismiss me and I wil have wasted an entire day to be dismissed. It doors loom fine but it hurts.

Oh it'll be fine! Just ignore it and it will go away.

Alternatively, you could stop being so DAFT and just make an appointment and let a GP do their job and make an assessment?

gordonpym · 06/05/2013 06:11

Maybe it's not a mole. I had a mole on my face, close to my nose. Been there for years, and one day it became itchy, just that itchy, didn't change in size nor shape. Went to the doctor who said "looks fine to me", but I did insist and was sent to the dermatologist. And she told it wasn't a mole but a pigmented carcinoma. Skin cancer. I had it removed.

My mole wasn't ugly, strange, elevated or whatever like the ones you see googling. . It looked even pretty. But it became itchy.

So go to your GP, show it to him, and if he's says, no worries, it looks fine, tell him you're not thinking about melanoma, but pigmented BCC (basic cell carcinoma).

Go to the GPs and have this mole properly looked at by a doctor. Also insist on a referral to a specialist when you are in there. You have all the indicators for a mole that needs further investigations.

If your GP practice is generally awful then change GP practice; that is easier to do these days.

All I can say, is that my black Melanoma was NOT itchy/sore and did not bleed.
So your mole is not one of them. Did it perhaps bleed when you scratched it due to the itch? < I'm terrible with itches and scratch like mad>

Elibean · 06/05/2013 13:20

Why mess with it? I would ask for skin specialist GP (we have two at our local surgery), or referral to dermatologist.

Do not let them dismiss you. Be a squeaky wheel. If you weren't worried, you wouldn't be posting here, now would you?

BriansBrain · 06/05/2013 19:47

Thank you for taking the time to post. DD has a minor surgery oppointment booked in a few weeks so I will mention it whilst there.

Thanks again

Please do not leave it for a few weeks. Please ring your GP tomorrow for an appointment. If it is more than just a mole it is far easier to deal with in the early stages.

Listen to all the advice on here and don't bury your head in the sand.

Sh1ney · 06/05/2013 22:43

If you leave this for a fortnight you are mad. It is a change in a mole. The sooner you see someone the better. You've got kids... don't take risks with your health when you don't need to

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/06/2013 23:30

What happened, did you get checked out?

digerd · 09/06/2013 08:23

Oh, this was a month ago. Everything turn out fine OP?
