A very odd conversation to be having Blush , but my 8 mth old daughter had what looked like tiny crystals in her wet nappy this morning?? It looked rather like salt?? Is this normal?

Any help would be muchly appreciated. Smile

If she is wearing a disposable it is just from the nappy. They do that when wet somtimes. No worries!

Ledodgyherring · 16/05/2006 11:13

Yeah, it's definately the nappy crystals if she wears disposables so don't worry!

arfy · 16/05/2006 11:14

yes it's from the nappy!

when they get very wet - i.e. overnight - this can happen

check to see if they are hard or soft. If they are soft I agree it most likely the crystlas of silica gell. if the crystals are hard, they could be crystals from the urine itself in which case you should see your gp, does not neccesaarily indicate anyhthing bad but warrents a visit.

Thanks very much... feel more a ease now!
usually use Pampers ... but have been using Tesco's own since sunday, don't know if this would make a difference?

ahh yes, I had the same problem when I swiched

arfy · 16/05/2006 11:30

might not be as absorbent as the Pampers (please don't sue me Tesco!)

but Chapsmum is right, do check they're not hard

blueamema · 16/05/2006 11:32

Chapsmum- it was soft so must have been the silica gel.....
