Advice on DS astigmatism pls

My DS is 4yrs in reception took him for his first eye test never thought there was a problem. Been told he has astigmatism and has to wear glasses for close work, computers etc but not PE or playground. Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this as he is only 4 yrs, will his eyes get better, is there any treatment to correct it etc thanks for all your advice.

No expert, but I do have quite severe astigmatism ie rugby shaped eyeballs. I wear contact lenses or glasses and life continues on....I found out at 8 that I couldn't see the blackboard. Clearly I had astigmatism then, but thought it was just short sightedness.

Laser eye surgery may be an option later in life but I don't think it is suitable for me (am -8 and therefore it isn't recommended), but to be honest, I don't find it a big deal.

Your DS will probably have many more medical options than me given that technology is improving all the time, but for the moment I wouldn't make an issue out of it. And just listen to the optician / dr.
