sore throat - gross!

This is gross btw, it's making me feel queasy just thinking about it but I'm going to tell you anyway!
Over the weekend I had a really sore throat, every time I swallowed it felt like my throat was lined with razor blades, I couldn't eat anything except ice cream and I had a temperature and felt generally ill.
Anyway... last night I started coughing and felt something come up from my throat, I spat it out and it was a massive horrible sharp object that looked like mucus/snot but rock hard. I threw it in the bin and then discovered that my throat felt much better, now I'm wondering what the hell it was and how was it stuck in my throat?

Sounds like you got a tonsil stone. Don't worry about it!

yes, I get gunk on my tonsils from time to time. It was worst during my first bout of it 20yrs ago.

and I haven't watched the you tube videos of tonsil stones being removed, oh no, not me

Gargle in anti bacterial mouthwash, it is fantastic.

I used to get these. Had to "squeeze" my tonsils with a cotton bud to get them out.

Sounds like a tonsil stone. Used to get them, they are vile and they smell awful. Am tonsil free now thank god.
