change in freckle

Hi, I noticed that one log my freckles on my stomach has changed, it has grown risen and turned black! I went to the Dr who has referee me to a dermatologist and advised it's either blood under the freckle or possible soon cancer rep.
I have my appt on Tuesday and not sure what to expect. Any one had any experienced of this?

I have...exactly same as you and mine had a little bump next to it
Had it removed and it was a melanoma but a thin one so a good prognosis.
Just had a bit more skin removed around it - for a safe margin
I don't want to panic you, yours could easily be something else altogether
that was nearly five years ago have to have hosp check ups to keep an eye on things these finish soon hopefully!

Thanks for your reply, I stupidly googled lol and had allsorts of scarystories come up.

google will only tell you worst case scenarios
although mine was melanoma the operation to remove it was only small under local anaesthetic. Had a week off work but that was because I had a skin flap (localised skin graft) to close the wound (it was on my face so the operation was done by a plastic surgeon) and was a bit more specialised
You can't see much of a scar now
Better off just taking it a step at a time and don't google!
