Even with the window open DS1 is so hot at night as sun is on his room all afternoon. He doesn't like sleeping in just a vest but too hot in the sleeping bag. Have a 1 tog bag but think you can get ones that are jsut sheets but not sure where. Any tips?

Get a blackout blind and keep it closed during the day -we do this with our DS room as that used to get really hot with the sun on it all day.

Keep windows and doors open to get a bit of air movement (although make sure hes not directly in a draught obviously)

Will he wear a footless babygro with no vest? My DS didnt like to wear just a vest, but was happy in the babygro.

my son radiates heat, like his dad (!) so i put him in a long sleeve sleep suit with no vest on top of the covers.
he sleeps fine wearing just this.

Think he likes having something over his legs. Hot all the time too in the day.

Bettyspaghetii Have black out linnings on curtains and have been keeping these closed but do you think a blind would be better? THink that when the curtains are closed they stop the air getting through the window?

Have you got a local sewing place. You could even just by some cotton material and get one made up to the same size and shape as your growbag. Or you could buy some very thin material and tuck him in with it whilst he wears a short sleeve baby grow. Maybe you could put a fan in his room?

It's always a bit of a worrk but babies have been around as long as the weather so try not to worry. the great thing is you can just let them live in little body suits in the summer and just grab them and go with no faffing around with hats, mittens coats and blankets!

Or, just had another idea. Get a big, baggy thin sleep suit and cur the arms and feet out of it - instant equivilant of being wrapped in a sheet!
