We're off to the algarve next week on holiday. I have had a cold on and off the winter which won't shift. I woke up with it again last week and its still not away.

i've been taking vitamin c, lemon and honey, boots decongestant but nothing is shifting it.

any ideas how I can get rid of it so I can enjoy my well earned rest!

Ecinacea (sp!), from any health food shop.

Am very jealous though, btw. Where you going? We went to Carvoiero in 2002 and loved it. OooohEnvy

off to Ohlos D'agua which is outside Albufeira. We were in Carvoeiro last year for a revisit, having been there a few years before. We stayed at the Almansor- it was lovely!!!!!

I am not sure about ecinacea- does it really work- I though it wasn't proven. My mother keeps trying to get me to take it.

i've found echinacea to help, it doesn't treat any symptoms but boosts your immune system and help it deal with any infections quicker.

as its lasted for so long, could it be an allergy rather than a cold?, just a thought.

My MIL used to be plagued by re-occuring colds and has tried everything. She eventually went to a local health shop and the very experienced lady there gave her some herbal remedies that have really helped.

I've heard great things about echinacha tea as well.
