Laser Eye Surgery

I know there have been a lot of threads about this already, because I have just read most of them Grin
However I would like to know from those of you who have had it done

Which company did the procedure?
How many places did you look at and why did you chose the one you went with?
Do you have to know which procedure you need or will they tell you which they recommend?
Was it worth it?

I am 45 and have wanted laser eye surgery for ages but until now was unable to afford it.
I would love to be able to see long distances, and especially to be able to go swimming with the DC's and actually take the correct children home! and also to be able to wear just any sunglasses in the summer and not steam up every time I come indoors in the winter.
I would not be at all worried about having to still wear glasses for reading
I don't know what my prescription is but do know I have quite bad astigmatism

I just don't know where to start, there seems to be so many places to chose from and so many different procedures. I was all set to go to Optical Express but then read recommendations for Moorfields and others.
