Help!! Has dd started periods or is it cystitis?

Feel a bit silly asking, as she is dd2!!!, but not sure which it is.
Dd2 is 11 1/2, nearly 7 stone and has got all physical signs. She's had belly ache for a couple of days, this morning she needs to wee frequently and it's stinging so I thought water infection. Then she says a big blob of mucous that was pink/ light red fell in toilet. She had a bath and there was little bits left in there when I cleaned it.
So is that just cystitis , or has she started her periods too? And does she need to see a doc for the wee problem?

Ok, seems to be the start of her periods. Still not sure if she needs to see a doc about the frequent stinging wee.

I think I would go to the gp or at least go to the chemist and get some stuff for bladder infection. In the meantime get her to drink lots of water and cranberry juice, she might flush out the infection that way without needing meds.

I would judge it by the colour, I had cystitis and tum was sore, also a pink tinged urine.
Suppose everyone is different but brownish discharge would indicate a period to me, hope she gets well soon, yes plenty water and cranberry juice really does help.

Thanks. The red/ pink is on the pads she's wearing now so pretty sure it's a period. Still stinging when she wees so gp tomorrow. I have been making her drink loads of water and have cystitis sachets from chemist but I think it's gone on too long now.

What rotten luck, getting cystitis and her first period at the same time. Poor thing.

The gp said definately bladder infection. She has antibiotics. Still seems a strange coincidence she had that and first period at the same time though. Thanks again.
