fatigue and constipation

any one ever suffered from a combination of these two? i thought they were unrelated problems until recently but now i have heard that they are connected.
have a sluggish bowel and take laxatives but the tiredness is ruining my life. The laxatives are awful and i really dont like the idea of taking them long term. Consultant put me on them so dont know who to turn to now for advice.
any advice would be brilliant - am started to get depressed from it al

Hi school have you had a blood test? fatigue and constipation can be two symptoms of an underactive thyroid.

I have had both these symptoms for over a year. I finally asked my doctor to give me a blood test because I have an under active thyroid and thought my medication needed changing. Long story short I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease a month ago.

I have had every test i can think of. have had a colonoscopy which ruled out chrohms, cancer, ibs, candida etc
I had bloods done several times and all normal
I did a food intolerance
I have taken loads of supplements
I dont know what to do now - am totally lost.
Havent worked for a year with it and am losing my marbles!!
Think i might try a colonic irrigation and see if that helps.

Have you tried cutting out carbs? They are known to make you tired.

Also could be an intolerance, try cutting out dairy or gluten?
