Since last Thursday evening when I had a bowl of shreddies at stupid o'clock in the morning I have had indegestion after every large meal!!

First I thought maybe it's becaus emy sleeping pattern is a bit odd due to a UTI (thats has now cleared) and I wasn't eating all day then having one large meal was causing it, but today my sleeping pattern is much better Sleep by 11 wake at 8am and have tried snacking little amounts, but nope still indegestion Sad at this rate I am going to need shares in gaviscon!!!

Anyone else ever experience this?

On the summary, your name read as "ownedbyacock" just saying Grin

Have you been checked for gallstones - are you having full fat milk with your cereal? When i had gallstones i coudlnt tolerate ANY fat. I also had shares in gaviscon.

No I haven't, also I dont eat anythign with fat in it really. Have skimmed milk and low fat yoghurts no cheese Sad

Thing is, its starting to give me anxiety about eating, I start a new job on Monday I don't need this!!

See the GP, they can prescribe something which should settle it.

it could be that the anxiety is also contributing to the indegestion - get thee to a physician. To be fair a yoghurt, even low fat would have sent me writhing in agony when i had gallstones. The symptoms can vary between mild discomfort to the worst pain you can ever experience, seriously it made childbirth seem like a walk in the park. I couldnt eat anything in the end - ok, i lost four stone in two months but that was not healthy!

I would certainly be wanting to rule out gallstones, but i would also now be putting a 50p flutter on the anxiety. (been there too :( )

Great news about the job - you'll be grand. Eat little and often and keep some rennie in your bag - you wont need it though!

I'll try and see the GP before monday IF I can get an appointment, I do have an appointment with the Nurse for my smear (sorry) see if she can wangle somethign out of a passing GP for me haha.

I'm starting to edge my bets on anxiety too, It's not unimaginal pain just a constanf dull ache, I am also more aware of my lower abdomin all of a sudden like a pulling pain.

I've never had indegestion till Thursday evenign in my life! Sort of rang my mother and she said "it's indegestion, take gaviscon" and it does settle the tummy pain, but I can still feel a niggling in my lower abdomen so not sure if thats "part" of indegestion or not if you get me. Hmm

Chronic indigestion causes anxiety. Avoid alcohol and acidic foods. It'll settle.

weighingitallup · 20/03/2013 13:37

Am wondering if you should try something like windeeze instead of gaviscon, gaviscon is good for heartburn and reflux but less so for trapped wind, the lower abdo thing could be that.

Thanks all, ill pop in to boots on my afternoon travels and have a gander. Just glad I'm not going crazy or about to explode Smile

It's just so uncomfortable but hoping it will leave. I don't drink alchol but do like oranges, so ill cut them out for a bit.

Having something very similar to you too, but have no answers either - sorry!

Been on omeproazole but got horrible tingling in hands and feet so came off it and haven't felt any difference tbh. Just had a gall bladder scan and that's clear and now waiting on an endoscopy appt.

Anxiety is playing a big part for me too and I am dreading each meal time. One thing I have done is remove all wheat, dairy and egg from my diet and things are def improving although diet is very boring but better than constant pain.

Good gut healing by Kathryn Marsden is a great book and I have learnt loads and feel more in control now. Hoping it's not a stomach ulcer or H pylori bacteria.

Tip - do not google it is way too frightening! Hope you feel better soon

Mine has gone today Shock yesterday I just snacked all day and had a very small evening meal. It worked, today my stomach feels great Hmm seems most things do correct themselves. Also had a lovely phone call off my soon to be manager to see how I was and settle my nerves. Taking me and the new team for breakfast on Monday for a chat and relaxed welcome.

It must have been the nerves, poor sleeping patter and bad eating habits Confused
