Hi there.
Just a quick history.
Had a calf DVT about 3 months after 1 st child was born about 3 years ago.

2nd pregnancy, Ear;ly on I had same pain, couldn't walk for 2 weeks it was so bad. Was put on prophalactic dose and pregnancy continued fine.

I am now about 8 weeks pregnant with 3rd and ended up in hospital last week with more renewed leg pain (had nothing for about 2 years) Exact same spot and pain although could still walk on it and mainly when getting out of bed or getting up after sitting down.

D dimer was high (I know it can be in preg anyway) so they kept me in until a scan was done the next day.

Had scan, nothing found so have been put on 40MG proph dose with a follow up next week.

Anyway leg seemed to get better for a few days and now having more pain again.

What I wanted to ask is, if they had possibly missed a calf DVT, would a prophalactic dose be sufficient to get rid of the existing clot or at least take care of it?

It might put my mind at rest a bit.

How often are calf DVT's missed on US? (I heard they are not as good on the lower leg DVTS?)

Why would the pain suddenly spring up in pregnancy out of nowhere. Would this be PTS?

I just don't seem to get any answers.

I don't have any visable varicous veins and the pain is in exact same spot as origional DVT.

Any answers or imput much appreciated.
