Quick question about blood glucose testing

Is anyone quite clued up about blood glucose ranges etc
I've suffered hypoglycaemia symptoms for years but my gp won't take me seriously.
Yesterday I felt funny quite suddenly checked my levels with my blood glucose monitor and I was 2.3, lowest I've ever been whilsthaving a 'shaky episode', but the thing is it gradually went back up after a bit of chocolate and then I had my evening meal as normal but about twenty minutes after that it was 11.1, I've never had a reading that high! I was feeling shitty and getting heart palpitations as well.
When I was given the monitor I'm sure they said 4-7 was normal anything below or above would need investigating, is that correct?
I've tested again this morning and it's at 7.7 so still not within 'normal range'
Help I'm so worried as I've been trying to tell them for years something wasn't right and now I'm worried its to late and in gonna end up diabetic Hmm
I'm gonna try and get an appointment today but need to be clued up.

Thanks for the reply.
I managed to get an appointment quickly and he has sent me for more tests to look for elevated gastrin and igf? Apparently I haven't had these before. He said 11 isn't dangerously high and didn't seem to bothered by it or the low reading for that matter but at least he has sent me more further tests, he also wants me to keep pricking my fingers for blood, they seem to have stabilised over the past few days though.
I'm just so tired all the time have always been really, it's gotta be linked and I'm fed up with having no energy or motivation to do anything Hmm
