should a child ever shoot off the height/weigh charts?

is it unusual in 'normal' children. dd2 had a period of very accelarated growth between 3months till now really, tho is slowing now and back on the 99th percentile. she shot off the charts of 3months old IIRC for height and weight. by the age of 1 she was almost the same size as her 3yr old sister. now at the age od 3 she is the same size and weigth as dd1 who is 6years old. she towers above opther children her age.

she has some autistic traits, food issues(used to vomit a lot, so her weight gaimn was puzzling to say the least), has low muscle tone, and a speech delay. part of me feels all of these behaviours and her growth could be connected, but i cant find anything.

My dd has been pretty much off the charts since she was 2 yo. She is now 5.6 yo and 4 ft high and almost 4 stone. She is happy, healthy and doing well at school. I don't give the charts a look but I can understand your concern if your dd2 has autistic traits. I am hoping my dd's growth will slow down. My ds is 3 yo and average according to the charts and dh and myself aren't tall - dh is 5.10 and I'm 5.5.

The only rapid height disorder i can think of is marfans syndrome. Not implying your dd has this. Both my dds' are tall as well but i am 6ft2 so they get it from me.

marfans often have long fingers and heart problems. dd2 has a murmur buy stubby fingers. dont think its that. she has a very prominent jaw, and larger than average head. she has an assessment at CDC on tuesday, am going to ask if there is any possible link.

my dd had accelerated growth from around three months and shot up from the 75th to over the top of the graph shes now 6 and is on 99th for hieght and 75th for weight, they investegated her rapid growth when she was a baby and said she was just going to be very tall, so in my experiance rapid growth can happen in 'normal' children. I remember someone mentioning 'marfats' (i think thats how you spell it) syndrome when she was a baby as that causes rapid growth,
