Anyone know anything about eyes?

My 5yo dd has today mentioned that she sees "lazer beams" when there's not much light. She says they are all sorts of colours and are in straight lines. She says she's been seeing them for a while "since I was, well, 4"

Should I take her to the optician for a check up? She's never had any problems with her eyes before. I don't think she's making it up - her tone of voice and attitude was not like when she's playing.

Thanks for your help.

Has she had her pre-school check yet? They check eyes and may pick something up there. They picked up a slight problem with my dds and we ended up going to the eye hospital for further follow up.
Do you go to the opticians for regular appointments? My dds are 6 and 4 and they get checked regularly - they love going and think it's great getting a ride on the opticians "magic chair". Grin If you haven't done any of the above it's well worth getting them checked.
Sorry unable to help with any medical answers.

Hi Sparkler no she's not had her preschool check yet, and no she's not been to the opticians either. She did have an eye test at 3 which was OK.
I don't know whether to take her to the Opticians or Doctors, what do you reckon?

Thanks everyone, I'll call the optician tomorrow.
