I have a doctors app on Tuesday but in the meantime I did what should never be done. Googled my symptoms. Of course I now have leukemia.

Come and reassure me that I have anemia or something else less serious.

My symptoms are:

Unexplained bruising on my legs, todays haul is 12 thumbprint size bruises across both legs.

fatigue, I feel bone wearily tired and struggle to get through the day without a nap.

Weightloss, I have lost 2 & a half stone over 8 months despite eating far more than I should, including a lot of crap.

Spotting, I am spotting between periods. This has been happening for about 2 months. Worse after sex.

I am breast feeding my 8 month old so maybe its just that?

You could be anaemic, malnourished, exhausted. Perhaps all three. As you're bf, you should be taking in an extra 200kcal (or is it 500?). Should be nourishing food, too - not "crap".

Bone tiredness is common when looking after a baby, but if you're not properly nourished and/or have anaemia, you'll feel worse.

Don't really know about the bruising and spotting. What are your menstrual cycles like post-birth?

Try not to worry and talk about all of this when you see your GP :)

Did you put much weight on whilst pregnant? (In other words, have you lost more since the birth than you put on?). I lost an awful lot of weight following birth of DS3 (was also bf). Much more than I did with DS1 & 2.

I think it probably is anemia or similar, I should take more care over my diet.

My cycles came back very lightly for two cycles and then a lot of spotting since.

I lost all the pregnancy weight and then a stone extra. I have been putting it down to the breast feeding but will mention it to the doctor too.

I didnt bf my older two and had to work hard to lose the pregnancy weight and it soon went back on.

It's the bruising that is most worrying, maybe I am just clumsy with the tiredness.

There are platelet deficiencies you could have - easily treatable Smile

Which is by far the most likely explanation of the bruising. Vitamin and/or platelet deficiencies of various sorts.

After I had my ds I lost 2 stone in the first year despite eating everything and anything (and I hadn't put on weight in pg) - he was a big hungry lad!

And I bet you are running round after your older 2 as well as feeding the baby this time, so you may well be eating less than you think

Thanks everyone. I am more at ease now. Why, oh why, do I Google!

I had rocky mountain spotted fever acne once.
