can anyone give me (NICE and helpful ) advice, or am i really just GREEDY??
Is there any medical advice?? Other than STOP!!!!

You could try drinking a class of water or diet coke before a meal. There is less room in the stomach so you feel fuller. You can also get fullness shakes that bulk out your stomach before eating.
Maybe see a De & get referred to a dietician.

Did anything else change around 2 years ago? eg stressful job, new relationship, breakup, children...

It can help if you can work out what it is you really want, if you know you're not actually hungry. But food can be a substitute for almost anything else.

And/or you just pick up bad habits and forget to notice the full feeling. Or, like me, shovel your food down too fast and don't realise you are full...

This happened to me. In my case, I was comfort eating due to some serious health stuff going on, I was eating during 2 pregnancies to stop the nausea, and then I gorged myself whilst bfing. After all of these things over about a 4 year period, I had completely broken my ability to tell when I was full. I have found Paul McKenna's Hypnotic Gastric Band excellent for addressing this. I have lost nearly a stone in a few weeks, and feel back in control of my eating. Good luck!

Not sure whether the hypnosis works, but the key thing that Paul McKenna says you need to learn is conscious eating. Chew each mouthful 20 times and put your knife and fork down between each mouthful to consider whether you are full or not. Has really reigned my mad eating in!
