Omeprazole - anyone had side effects?

I started Omeprazole about 10 days ago for gallbladder/ulcer issues and at first I seemed to be fine on it. Not sure it helped hugely as still had a pretty constant pain under my right rib.

However, yesterday I woke up with tingling in my hands and feet on my left side which was horrible and I got v panicky. Today I have woken up with tingling in all hands and feet as well as muscle aches and pains.

I went to the docs and she said it could be a side effect and to stop taking it but it may take a few days to come out of my system. I have my gall bladder scan tomorrow, so hoping they manage to identify the problem.

She didn't seem unduly concerned but I am still v worried and v uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this?

DH gets this together with a rash on his hands.

There are other drugs in the 'zole' family, that you maybe able to take. DH doesn't get this with pantoprazole or nexium.

Thanks very much. I'm coming off it tomorrow so am praying am not in agony but I could definitely not put up with this tingling!

DH is on Omeprazole pending Gall Bladder removal.Not had any side effects though.
