Thin poo - anyone know why??

I apologise in advance for the icky content of this thread but I am worried about my poo. I am not a poo troll but have name changed for obvious reasons!!

Since Xmas I have noticed I have been passing rather thin stools.

I have suffered with IBS for many many years (20 plus). My IBS meant I did not open my blwels reguarly at all. 10 days without a bowel movement was not unusual. This was usually followed by cramps, passing of the hard stools and 24 hours in and out the loo with agonising cramps and the stools got looser and looser until I was passing water from my back passage. This has been pretty much wiped out since I saw a specialist and who put me on movicol (4 years ago). I take 1 to 2 sachets daily, sometimes if I begin to feel Full I increase to 3 or 4 sachets - as advised. This has given me my life back as I was near housebound before.

I was wondering if anyone may know the reason why my stools have recently changed shape/size. I have also noticed I poo often. Almost every time I need a wee, I pass a thin little stool.

I am trying to avoid another visit to my GP. So far in the past 6 months he has seen my boobs and carried out an internal. I really am trying to avoid having my bum examined too.

Any ideas of the causes?? Anyone else on movicol have similar?

Hi, this van be a sign of a narrowing in the bowel and is worth mentioning to the dr. Sorry, I think you might be on a hat trick with your bits being examined.

I agree with PeachyPossum. Someone is going to have to examine you to look for a reason for it! Could rather large internal piles cause sufficient narrowing to do this???? Or is it another weird form of constipation? Do you get piles??

Well I have no idea ,but if it's any comfort I get this sometimes .

Usually if I'm pooing every time I go to the loo.

My bowel movements are all over the place - constapation ,loose ,watery ,explosive .

I can run the whole gamut in a few days .

I do find that these www.bodykind.com/product/57_130-Udos-Choice-Super-8-Probiotic-Blend-30-Vegicaps.aspx?Referer=Froogle_Udos-Choice-Super-8-Probiotic-Blend-30-Vegicaps&utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=price%20comparison&utm_campaign=Udos-Choice-Super-8-Probiotic-Blend-3&gclid=CMCo-biO-rUCFePHtAodbyMAfg

really help .
Though heaven knows why !

I'm on movical and either have this or the runs. I never ever have a normal poo.

I am a veteran of bowel problems and have also been on Movicol a few times. It always gives me thin poo and like you I have to go every time I do a wee. I spoke to my consultant about it and was told this was normal whilst on Movicol -something to do with how fast waste passes through and not taking on any form because of decreased transit time .

That's interesting to read. I have movi for times when my Crohns decides my intestines are on strike and I've never been told that.

Still worth checking with your own dr though. I think they should hand out badges for the horrible tests!!

Any change in bowel habits should be reported to your GP. Bowel cancer is very common :(
