I have recently had a full blood count and saw my Dr today for the results he said that my platelets are slightly risen but he's not concerned..
After looking at the screen I noticed that my platelets have slowly risen since 2008 they started at 200 and something and are now 460 is this normal???
I did question it and he said that if I'm worried he would have no problem sending me for another test but he said it can flactulate..

platelet counts up to 450 are considered normal byt if yours have been steadily increasing than I would expect your gp to test it again possibly several times and if it continues to go up refer you to haematology.

Hi Kewcumber, I really don't know what to think maybe I should request another test for peace of mind.. My Dr didn't seem concerned atall but it has been raising since 2008 he said 460 is fine but I'm not so sure

460 is fine really but 460 continuing upwards needs to be kept an eye on. If its taken 3 years to get to 460 then probably another test in 3-6 months would be fine.
