Is it just me? It bloody hurts all day and night, like an extra days period but without the blood. :(

I get that too, only in recent years (approaching menopause but that's a whole different thread Sad) - quite a throbby pain, also low back pain. My sympathies, it is horrid.

Em3978 · 12/03/2013 20:48

I used to get it (til i gave in to industrial strength hormones!) and it always radiated down to one knee, so I'd limp too!!

TheBeanAndTheBee · 12/03/2013 20:51

I get it too, think its the fibroids... Agree - OUCH!

I get it, apparently its peri-menopausal, although recently it only happens every second month. Not sure if I only ovulate on one side now?

ElvisIsKing · 12/03/2013 21:00

I think I know what you mean, painful shooting pains in ovaries, is that it? I have polycystic ovaries so think its because of that for me

Daeneryschild · 12/03/2013 21:16

Peri-menopause! I'm only 31.

I get it too! Took me ages to work out it must be ovulation (duh! What could this dreadful, sudden pain be mid month??? hmm...) I just thought 'Shit! It hurts when I ovulate now...'

Turned out I had a cyst on one of my ovaries (size of baby's head!). They took that and ovary out and said, 'Did you not think there was something wrong??

However...I now get ovulation pain every other month or so - just as bad. Have been back to doctor who told me dismissively, 'Yeah - loads of women get this. It's perfectly normal'. So I'm back to the 'Shit! It hurts when I ovulate'.

Sympathies to all. It's fucking painful.

Daeneryschild · 12/03/2013 21:24

Funnily enough my ds had a burst cyst a couple of months ago. Got me thinking but thought a cyst wouldnt hurt on alternate sides each month.

Yes, had it since I was a teen (am also 31). Think midcycle /ovulation pains are known as 'Mittelscchmerz'.

willyoulistentome · 13/03/2013 17:58

I get it too. Miles worse than proper period pain which I hardly get at all. I've had it since I was about 13 so its not ALWAYS perimenopause.

Daeneryschild · 13/03/2013 22:16

Feeling fine today. Can't understand why your body makes you feel so yuck when you should be having sex??? Last thing on your mind when you're in agony with back ache and cramps.
