Go to the GP today, sit and wait for an appointment if necessary. It will give you peace of mind and they may be able to give her something to quell nausea etc.

Rhubarb · 04/05/2006 16:11

Get her to the docs.

charliecat · 04/05/2006 16:14

the doctor wont do anything, even when your half bloody dead, honestly, waste of time.
suck on a clean flannel???

wait till the surgery closes. then phone NHS 24 and get an after hours appointment. mine's a waste of time, too. this is the route i usually have to take whenever one of us is ill.

if she's throwing up bile, she REALLY needs an anti-emesis.

Rhubarb · 04/05/2006 16:16

Then there must be a clinic at your hospital? I'd honestly get her checked out, there is a time limit for vomiting, I can't remember if it's 24hrs or 48, but if she's not keeping water down and is vomiting bile then she really needs to be seen asap.

My dd was like this last week and we phoned NHS Direct for reassurance. The nurse told us to try to change the pattern by not give her any water for an hour to rest the stomach, and then give 30 mls every 15 minutes - we'd been letting her drink as much as she wanted before that and she was just throwing it back up. If she's in nappies, are they wet? Does her skin bounce back when you pinch it?

charliecat · 04/05/2006 16:20

skin bouncing back. Sipping water now

it's drugs to stop the vomitting. if she starts throwing up old blood, deffo get her in to see someone. it happened to me last year when i was pregnant and it was awful.

charliecat · 04/05/2006 16:27

Will do, wil also panic and scream. Im gonna freeze some water so she can suck on it for now, shes quietly watching cartoons just now

Can you not phone NHS Direct? Might give you some reassurance?

ggglimpopo · 04/05/2006 17:02

I would try diluted coke - not the diet kind. Half and half coke and water, sip 30mls every 15 mins. Kids will often drink better through a straw (can't remmeber how old she is).

I would also ring nhs direct.

charliecat · 04/05/2006 17:25

sorry disapeered to sainsburys. Think may call the OOH doctor as she is TOASTING. Currently sucking on lemonade icelolly and not throwing up. Kept last lot of water down.
Hasnt been sick for at lease 45 mins :)

Ice lolly is a fab idea charlie cat.
10 mls of water every 10min.
do you have any dioralyte?
How old is she?
You could get some paracetamol sups from the chemist. They are quite expensive to buy or you could phone out of hours for a prescription
