Mirena question

I had the Mirena inserted at the beginning of December. Some bleeding since on and off. Just when I think it's stopped, it starts again. But I always seem to bleed during intercourse. Is this normal?

I'm watching with interest. I'm considering having one.

I had one fitted a year ago after painful periods and bleeding. My periods became lighter at first but I had breakthrough bleeding 3 out of 4 weeks a month. It drove me mad. Then in August (post 7 mths) I missed my period. When I got my next it was lighter. Same again October and come December no period at all. I am now completely free from periods. I get some pains around the time of month and grumpy a bit but thats all. When I saw my consultant in October I was going to have it out. But try to stick with it. Its worth it in the end.

Was it worse during intercourse though (bleeding) JALG?

I have had no bleeding since insertion. I bloody love mine.

Don't know if it's normal but I had this for 5yrs whilst I had mirena. Just had mine out - best thing I ever did tbh. Far too many annoying side effects like that!

7 months post insertion here. I bled every day for the first 2 months. Now I still get a period every 3.5 weeks, but they are getting lighter. Before mirena, I was filling a mooncup every 1-2 hours, now it's more like 1-2 a day on my heaviest days, with bleeding lasting about 6 days. However, I was really hoping to be one of the lucky ones with no period, or just light spotting. I still await this optimistically.
