Well, the bbc website also says acne can come on at anytime if theres a major something going on in your life, so it could be stress related if youve had a heavy few months.

sweetmonkey · 04/05/2006 15:38

yeah. im just trying to get on with things and trying/hoping to find a new man and stuff and just having these things is hardly gonna attract anyone

just an update.

spoke to my dad about it last night on the phone about what the chemist said and he said that id had it nearly all my life and that they were just under the skin marks and not to worry.

knowing id had them for years and years sort of made me feel better in that its not just a sudden thing

plus tried the gel and although the area is a little red the size of the lump has gone down considerably, thank goodness

thanks to all of you who helped me yest and gave advise. v much appreciated Smile

I had those sort of spots in my twenties. Went to the docs, who prescribed a topical antibiotic. She only did this after I went in in tears. They were so big, they needed their own passport. Don't know what it was, but they stopped rearing their ugly heads after about a year.

well quick update. i used the gel all over my face last night like the chemist had said and woke up this morning with my face swollen, and looking v burnt.

just been to boots to speak to a pharmasist who told me the chemist that gave me the stuff should have told me to do a patch test first as diff parts of the face have different reactions.

feel like crying. never thought my skin had been that bad, i take the advice of the chemist and now im to embarrassed to go out coz i look hideous. just been told to take anti histamine and hopefully it should go down in a couple of days

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Sad Sad Sad

OMG What an arseAngry Are you going to have a moan at him?

sweetmonkey · 08/05/2006 08:18

yeah gonna go back at lunchtime and say he should warn people about things like this. the woman yest told me i should have done a patch test, howver it didnt say that in the instructions that came with it and also the original chemist hadnt told me that.

swelling has gone down today, but my skin is sooooooooooooooooooo dry and sore, feels like its gonna crack everytime i yawn. ive been told not to put anything on it for themoment. plus i have a big burn scab on my chin.

grrrrrr

ok so am really angry now. went to the nice chemists other end of the road and they said not to put anything on my face as it will only irritate it more and just to keep it cool and stuff. they also told me i should have been informed to do a patch test

went to the horrible chemists and asked for the guys name. woman told me she didnt know it and would get him to come speak to me. ten mins later stil standing there and he had started serving someone else when he could see me waiting.

he then got a diff colleague to come over and speak to me. i explained what had happened and that when i bought it someone should have told me about patch test as i havent used it before and it doesnt say in the instructions about it. the man said well surely its common sense to do that. WTF Angry

i also told him the woman in boots had questioned me yest as the cream was for acne and i didnt have it. At this point the bloke who sold me the cream came over. i told them that i was told to put it all over my face as apparently i had acne on the side of my face.

his reaction was "well i said you had a couple of spots" didnt say acne. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

FFS i came back to work upset last week after he'd bloody told me that i DID have acne. they were both v rude men. i got the guys name and want to write to someone to complain but dont know who.

sorry for going on and i dont even know if any of this makes sense. its just ive just eaten my lunch and all i could feel was my face cracking as i opened my mouth Sad
