Diagnose me - I feel rubbish

Feeling nauseous, freezing, have awful indigestion, tummy ache, horrible trapped wind (tmi sorry) and am beyond tired. I suffer from depression and anxiety in any case and I feel like it's out of control at moment. Seeing the GP on Thursday, but the one I'm seeing was the one who told me while pg to come off antidepressants because "babies are happy events".

I googled (for shame) and that suggested underactive thyroid but I am pretty sure my GP will laugh. Sad

Definitely not pregnant.

possibly thyroid or iron related, but could it be your meds causing some symptoms
thyroid probs are v common in women, esp after childbirth, so it is not something your gp will dismiss out of hand

Thanks, I feel like a complete hypochondriac! I have two DC; the youngest is 2.3.

See another GP if this person does continue to be unhelpful. An alternate suggestion is to change GP practice.

FWIW I read your symptoms and thought of the thyroid as well.

I could have wrote this OP ! Not been myself for a week or so, very painful trapped wind, nauseous, questioned myself yest could I be pg !
But the tummy aches, feels like an ongoing bug of some sort, just want to hideaway for a while, though impossible as youngest ds is 3, I fidget some milk and magnesium off my mil and really helped.
I just feel sick and bloated along with headaches, all day for last week or so.

Threadworms perhaps? I've had a few episodes of this and nausea with abdo discomfort etc. are the symptoms. You can catch them easily if you have children.

I was like this last week, terrible trapped wind and constant stomach pain, typical as it was during a rare week off too!

Bit of an update: GP quite thorough. He agreed to test thyroid function although I was actually tested last year. He took the bloating very seriously (symptom of ovarian cancer) but as it really only happens after eating, plus I have been under intolerable stress at work, he suspects IBS and will treat accordingly.

Hi OP, I'm glad you have seen GP about it.
I can't get in mine until Thursday !
Tum still uncomfortable, eating small meals etc, got some wind and bloating tablets, get a bit nauseous with the bloating and psinful soasms, sometimes too, which tells me perhaps could be another bloody bug of some sort...maybe Confused
Did your gp give you anything to ease it ?

manchestermummy · 08/03/2013 15:11

Yes he did, tablets called meberervine I think. Hope you get yourself sorted soon; it is an awful feeling Sad
