Hi,

This is quite embarrasing but for the past week between my legs has felt very swollen and sore when I sit down. I eventually braved it out and took a look and it seems very swollen, and my stiches with DD look lumpy. Theres no discharge or any other symptoms other than being twice its normal size.

Does anyone know whats wrong

im 28 weeks pregnant

On our thread ( babies born feb) we all laughed at our beefy bits! Never read about them in Mims Stoppard did we ?? Kbaby its normal i think and they do go back afterwards!

whe I was pregnant with DS2 I had bad opiles then got a similar feeling to you. I went to the GP and "I think my piles may have moved forward, if that's possible..." (feeling very foolish Blush). She had a look and said "They're not piles, you've got vulval varicose veins....."
Yuck.
Not pleasant at all and not much I could do except sit on a bag of frozen peas when they got sore Sad but they did disappear as soon as DS2 was born.
Maybe that's what you've got?
(sorry if TMI by the way Grin)

are they painful or just a bit plump?

SleepyJess · 04/05/2006 00:17

If they are sore/itchy, (you may possibly have been itching/rubbing in your sleep without being consciously aware), it may be thrush. Labia to swell with thrush and its very common in pregnancy.. and easily treatable.

vulval varicose veins. had it from early stages with dd. they do go away after the birth, but can be very uncomfortable. does the whole area throb and ache constantly? put your feet up and put a cushion under your bum, it will take the pressure off, if you can manage to have small frequent rests? don't worry though its not permanent

Chloe55 · 04/05/2006 09:17

Ooh yes, horrible, isn't it! Don't worry, they shrink back to normal almost immediately after birth. Shame you have another 12 weeks of it though! Grin

Grin NAO and Chloe - I saw the title and started thinking about all you with your beefy bits, and my porn star norks!! (I seemed to miss the beefy bits in favour of the norks Kbaby)... they all said that they were back to normal soon after the birth though.

Chloe55 · 04/05/2006 09:35

Rather have the pornstar norks than the beefy bits though Flame you lucky cow Grin

katyrocks · 04/05/2006 09:39
