SarahGarden80 · 03/03/2013 21:36

I want to try some herbal digestion/cleanse pills, trying to do some research online what is available and what works, maybe some good combination of senna and some root extracts. Any advice please?

Milk and magnesium helped me over the weekend, awful feeling of bloatedness, wind ??? I don't know, but I have spent the lady week or so watching what I eat to help my tum, bowel ? Get some relief from the awful tightness.

Senna are not "cleansing" they are a stimulant laxative and inappropriate use can weaken your bowels normal function so they should only be used if you are constipated.

I tend to think our bodies detox quite well on their own but, if you feel you need something, what about aloe vera gel? I tried it once and the world fell out of my bottom. Grin

It really depends on your health problems if any.
Senna is quite strong and you should not take it regularly as it will cause the opposite effect when you stop and can irritate your guts and cause micro flora imbalance.
How about taking psyllium husks - they are good for cleaning out digestive tract without overstimulating it. Also adding some oat bran to your porridge or cereal is good. Green juice is very good for cleansing.
I found that the best way to get your digestive tract in order is breathing exercises - there are lots of different methods you can google and see what you like.
I would be very careful with strong "cleansing" products - they can cause problems if taken without qualified advise. Senna definitely is a one -off remedy.
Some other "cleansing" products can cause water loss, together with causing loss of potassium which is very bad for you.

My sister gave me some peppermint capsules to take, they were px by her GP, they were amazing ! I had just had a c sec and muscles were still a bit numb, I honestly was emotional calling her to tell her they worked.

I have been using these herbal tablets from america called Dr schulze intestinal formula 1. I have tried quite a few different products over the years and these are by far the best. Not easy to get hold of but seen someone selling them on ebay. Definitely worth the money if you want something that works.

Hm I don't think senna is bad, its just a herb and is very small amount can't do any harm. Twosugarsplease I feel with you:) I prefer to eat soft watery food like soups, yoghurts, the feeling is not that bad then.

Plane Jane thanks for the link, those pills seems to be quite a good choice I will definitely consider trying them!:)

So at the end I went for Dr Schulze digestion pills on ebay, and surprise, it works:)) it was damn expensive but I must say it solved my problem with going to the toilette every day without making any harm:)
