Periods still haven't returned - is it normal?

Wondering if others have experienced the same thing. My baby is a year old and has been EBF but she's only been suckling 4 times (sometimes only 3) a day for a few weeks but my periods still haven't returned.

Should I worry??

18 months for me, so I wouldn't worry yet. You could talk to your GP if you are worried, but I wouldn't think they'd want to do anything until a good few months after your baby is weaned from the breast.

For what it's worth, you probably don't need to wean to get your periods back. I am still feeding twins about 4 times each in 24 hours (mostly over night), so I have my periods back despite feeding about 8 times a day!

Wow... Am in awe of anyone who breastfeeds twins... Felt hard enough with one baby at times!!

Just a word of caution
My sis , after her her DS2, was worried that her peiods had not come back as with DC1. Also she noticed the skin on her hands was very dry and a little bulge of fat on her midriff wouldn't go away - very vain my sis as she was always perfect.

Her blood test showed she had an underactive Thyroid gland. Nothing serious that can't be cured with Thyroid hormone supplements.

But as other posters have said - it can be absolutely normal.
