Anyone know what a DCI technician is?

MIL is not at all well, which is unusual for her. She is supposed to be in hospital, but has refused to go. All we can get out of her is that her heart is packing up, which is not v helpful.

DH would like to know whether she has heart failure, which will be treatable, or whether it is more serious than that.

He has arranged to take her to her next hospital appointment but now he has seen the letter it is for a DCI technician and there is no name on the letter.

This sounds to me as if she is going for a test of some sort, in which case I doubt DH is going to get much information. He thought, and she thought, it was a consultant appointment.

I've googled 'DCI technician' and keep getting stuff about the Renault Megane. That's clearly wrong. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thanks

Thanks - it looks as if that's right - I've just googled it and not a Renault in sight.
