Simple ovarian cysts

I have two simple cysts on my left ovary, each about 3cm. I've had two ultrasounds - about 2 months apart and they were more or less the same size. GP seems unconcerned but has referred me to a gynaecologist and did the ca125 which has thankfully come back normal. Can anyone tell me if these are regarded as small? (and therefore nothing likely to be done?)
This all came to light when I was diagnosed with early menopause, for which I am on hrt and I suppose I have some concerns about that too.

My DD had a lump shown on the scan, but they were sure it was a cyst. She was told to wait 6 weeks and have another scan. The cyst had reduced to to a dot by then. Hers was also early perimenopause. She cannot remember if they told her how large it was.

porolli I had a cyst of 3cm back in the autumn. I was told they don't tend to remove them under 5cm unless they are really causing problems (pain, bleeding etc). Mine was re-scanned 6 weeks later and it was found to have gone down to around 2.5cm and I was discharged. Apparantly cysts are v common when you are peri or menopausal and most cysts disappear by themselves. I think you'll maybe have been referred as yours is the same size as it was in the first scan. I think they'll just want to keep an eye on it and see if it is shrinking/growing or staying the same.

Thanks for your replies. Mine aren't really causing any trouble - just occasional discomfort - so I hope they will go down again at some point

I've had a 'simple cyst' for 4 years :/ its 3cm. Having it removed next year hopefully, it is painful when i ovulate, and when i get my period.
