Cold sore pain

Does anyone experience extreme facial pain when they have a cold sore. On the run up to me getting one, the side of my face is agony, short sharp pains and behind my eye is so sore. Got appointments with doctor tomorrow to see if I can maybe get something to ease this.

For me sometimes the pain spreads beyond the cold sore but I put that down to my neck glands being swollen which usually happens when I get cold sores. Just getting rid of 2 at the moment!

I wouldn't say it is extreme facial pain though so I sympathise with you for experiencing this, probably is best to do what you are going to and speak to your GP about it.
