New Moles

I have started to become more aware of checking my skin for moles etc. I have noticed a couple of 1/2 mm freckle/moles on my feet that I don't think I have had very long. They look normal and like others on my body. More friend that any new moles need looking if you are in your 30's - what do you think. Of course if they grew any bigger I would be straight to see my GP. I have lots of tiny 1mm moles on my body so find it hard to know if I have developed any new ones.

Always best to get moles checked out if you are unsure.
Even GPs are often very cautious and will refer a person on to someone else.

I noticed a very large and very black mole on my arm which was hard and raised unlike my other moles which were various sizes and shades but always soft. I didn't think of cancer, but was diagnosed as very malignant and caught just in time when I was in Germany. It had a red ring round it and noticed every day that the ring was darker and another red ring had formed on the outer rim of it. I had an appt with a skin specialist who took one look at it and said " that's got to come out now", and was given the local anaesthetic and 10 minutes he cut it out long root and all. It was a black melanoma. I had never noticed it when it was small.

I know someone who went to the GP. GP wasnt sure. Specialist[or whatever they are called] wasnt sure, so they were removed.
Best thing to happen.

It was my german gynea who recognised it and said the specialist was brilliant and would know just by looking at it and he did. This was 28 years ago

I was sixteen when I had two moles removed: I got the all clear but they were very keen to whip them off, even at that young age.

I think they generally prefer to err on the side of caution with moles, OP. If you are worried, see your GP.

Better safe than sorry!
