9 weeks post childbirth - bleeding again

lochia cleared up completely at about 6 weeks. Then started getting fresh bloos a couple of weeks ago, GP said period had returned, despite ebf. But bleeding has just started again, after about 10 days clear (last bleed presented like period). Can't speak to GP until tomorrow, and am worried. Any views? Thanks

Mine cane & went if I did too much. Are you over doing it? Hard not with a newborn I know.

I got my first period at 8 weeks after giving birth, bleeding has only stopped at 6 weeks. I went straight into a regular cycle despite EBF. So it is possible to restart your cycle quickly, even while EBF. The stop/start could just be your hormones settling down.

The only thing I would be wary of is if you have a high temperature or pain, as infections are a possibility. Otherwise I would say sounds like you have restarted your periods already.

Hi - thanks for replying. I feel well in myself, have very very mild cramping, but barely noticeable. Bleeding is very light.

It does feel like periods, but if that was the case, there would be only two weeks between them - that can't be right, can it?

That could be about right, your period and cycle are hormone related and they have been through a lot recently it is probable things are just settling down. It took my body a few months to get into a normal cycle. It may change again if/when you stop breastfeeding.
