Rant away.
Get to the library and get Allen Carr's Easyway to give up smoking. I found this really helpful. Don't worry about weight gain, thats a different problem for another day. I also started walking everywhere. With 3 kids I'm sure you're kept busy enough in the day, in the evening could you do something to keep your hands busy - crafts ? Some times its just RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA so come and rant here.....

Hiya we have just moved house so there's plenty to keep me going I have thought about a craft to start which I'm looking into, I want to decorate the girls bedroom in a vintage shabby chic look and am going to hand make the soft furnishing for them, I'm not worried about weight gain as I have lost so much weight over 6 months I look ill from it so will be great to put some on lol

The thing I hate is coming to the realisation how badly hooked I was on smoking I think it came as a shook and realising that I was putting first without thinking about it

Well not anymore !!! Grin

I know I must sound like I repeat myself on these threads, but read Allen Carr;'s book, the Easyway to Stop Smoking.

The difference is that people who use willpower and patches often think they are missing out and making a big sacrifice. People who read Allen Carr's book are happy not to smoke and think of it as being free.

Someone on another thread said they would always be a smoker, but just one who doesn't smoke, like an alcoholic who doesn't drink.

That made me so sad. You are a non smoker the second you stop for good.

I've gone 3 weeks now and life is so much better in so many ways without fags.

Allen Carr makes you think "Hooray I'm free", other methods make you think "I suppose I'd better, but I'll always miss it"

Sorry to sound like a brainwashed cult member, but I was devoted to smoking and his book de constructed it all for me. Plus he smoked 100 a day at one point, so I will listen to him in the way I wouldn't listen to someone who had never ever smoked.

Sounds like its definitely worth the read will definitely go and pick it up thank youGrin

Stick with the book, several people I know here & in rl don't like his attitude - that mystified me - as a very long term 20 a day - I can say it worked for me. Good luck with your crafting, I was underweight too when I gave up so the weight gain was a bonus Smile

YouOldSlag · 20/02/2013 09:13

Yes, many people don't like his writing style, but it's the content that counts.

Dothraki · 20/02/2013 10:20

Another thing that helped me was a very good friend said "you'll never give up" that made me far more determined Grin
