had an odd repetative twitch in my top rhs eyelid which is bugging me. had it off and on for a few weeks now. doesn't happen all the time, here and there. not sure if this is in my mind but sometimes it feels odd as if there is a vague pressure there even when it isn't twitching. i have had twitches before that have lasted for what seems like ages (few weeks) and then gone. getting a bit uncomfortable sometimes when talking to someone incase it happens as not sure if they can see (most twitches feel as if others can see them but they can't). anyone else had this (twitch that lingers)?

Yes! I get it in my eyelid a lot, usually when I've not been getting enough sleep.

I get mine in the same place when I don't wear my glasses to look at the laptop, phone etc.. I've taken to wearing them all the time now and twitch seems to have stopped.

ah thanks face tbh i am a terrible health worrier (not all the time but if something unusual surfaces i start to associate the situation with something bad..). i quite like twitches in that they don't hurt and are comfortable enough. it is just because it has been around for a few weeks and feels a bit odd even when it isn't twitching (not all the time, the feeling odd) that i was worrying. you know how it is, you go on the internet and before long you read somewhere that whatever you are worrying about is connected possibly to something sinister. oddly enough it tends to (if at all) be more likely to happen when i either yawn, look suddenly from side to side or up and down and when i am at the gym........

I get this when I am very tired or feeling very stressed.

I am a terrible worrier in regards to my health too.
I get palpitations when I'm stressed or worried about something, I went to the hospital the first time it happened convinced that I was dying. A few weeks later when I passed my driving test, it stopped. I didn't realise it was worrying me.
Now when I get them I think about what I'm worried about, try to resolve the issue, then once resolved it stops.
Usually things that play on our mind have a physical effect on our bodies.

I mentioned this to my optician once. He laughed (!) and said it was stress. Or too much caffeine.

face dh years ago rushed me to a&e as i couldn't breathe properly. turned out i was having a panic attack. i felt so embarassed, didn't help that the nurse was so off with me. i felt bad enough that i had wasted their time but she could have been more friendly, would it have been more convenient for her if i had keeled over? i have always been prone to mild MH issues (anorexia when i was younger, OCD too although have battled them and come through. i am still prone to the occasional panic attack but nowadays i seem to have, if anything, the odd bought (usually a few times a year) of TERRIBLE hypochondria. dh has learnt to live with it but it is a terrible thing to live with, terror of dying which is what i put it down to. sometimes (in a sarcastic not serious way) i think it might just be easier to call it a day and get it over with instead of years of constant fear of dying from one thing or another. i have to laugh about it really. generally i have a FAB' life and am happy, i just hate my personailty traits :)
