I've had ulcerative colitis for over 20 years with, touch wood, relatively few probs, infrequent flareups. Over the last 2 to 3 years I have had increasing problems with going to the toilet, feeling constipated, very narrow poo (like it can't get out - sorry, TMI). I've had piles for years, but they have gradually got worse, and what I have discovered, through looking at them and researching on the web, that I have grade 4 piles. Now, I have been single for a long time but had my first sexual encounter for a while a few weeks ago, and I was mortified at the fact he would be able to see my piles. I have been to the doctor who is referring me to the consultant about them, but I wondered if anyone had the same problem and had treatment and could tell me what it was, whether it worked and was worth it. I can live with having piles (I think...) if you couldn't see them. I am just so worried about getting naked with someone in case they think I'm a freak!
