Can you be a carrier for Chicken Pox or is this just a coincidence?

My sister came out in mild chickenpox about six weeks ago. She didn't know what it was at the time (at 29 it wasn't the first thing that came to mind) so inadvertently my two dd's were exposed.

Ten days later, dd2 came out in a rash. We waited for the blisters.. but they never came. It looked more like a german measles rash than chicken pox (although where she could have got that from I don't know!)

Next door's dd came to play the day before dd2 came out in the rash.. and two weeks later she came out with chicken pox.

So, has dd2 passed it on without actually coming out with it fully? Why didn't dd1 get it? Or is it just a coincidence that my sister and next door neighbour both came down with it? Have I spoken too soon (it's 2 1/2 weeks since next door came down with it).....

Opinions on the back of a postcard to the usual address Grin

you can have chicken pox and only have one pox .. so possibly she had one somewhere and had a viral rash at the same time .. I reckon she's had the pox and passed it on

maybe..... BUT their does seem to be LOADS of CP around at the moment and the girl could have been exposed through someone else.... maybe a complete stranger on the buss etc
