our HVs are running behind on these - to the point where ds will be 1 in less than 3 weeks' time and we haven't yet had a date though.

what's in the check? do all areas carry them out? should i be hassling my HV?

they check weight, length, hearing and general developement and ask about food and sleep - ours were pretty far behind too but I wouldnt worry too much unless you have any concerns. HTH. Smile

Waste of time unless you have concerns IMO. Surely we are able to tell ourselves if are children loko normal weight and height? I think there was a hearing test too. Again, I am sure you know if there is a problem.

Ours was behind too! I wasn't too worried, as someone else said, i knew dd was happy & healthy. If i'd had any concerns i'd have gone along to the drop in clinic.

You should get free books though you might be able to get them from your local library

My son didn't get one. Don't have enough staff to do them where I live.

In our "red book" it gives a run down of the things they look for. Ds didn't have his until 13 months.
