Hot water bottle/microwave wheat bag? Ibprofen/paracetamol at the correct intervals and keep it up, they work best if you take them consistently. Don't stay too long in one position, keep a little bit mobile because stiffening up is the worst. If you have tingling/numbness in your legs get to your GP tomorrow. My absolute favourite thing is my electric blanket, keep everything nice and warm. If you need to be mobile wack some ibuprofen gel on and one of those hot back stick on patches (checked with a pharmacist he said it was ok to do that), lovely stuff. In the end your best friend is time, take it gently and let things get slowly better.

Do some yoga/Pilates stretches if you know any? Or cat stretches (all fours, arch then lower your back).

Lost - I have had excruciating back pain recently and am now left with numbness in left leg and some toes. Feels like my foot is pulling underneath. Was very concerned but doctor says this is normal after sciatica. Should I be worried and will it go away? Had it 2 weeks or so.

OP - I have never felt pain like it and could not support myself to stand at one point without max painkillers. Hot water bottle tucked in trousers and hot baths helped a bit. Hope you feel better soon.

If you're GP is happy you probably just need everything to calm down, everything to do with backs seems to take an age to get better. From my understanding you have irritated the nerve that works that area and it will be extra touchy now and needs to calm down with a nice cup of tea and a rest before it stops complaining to you Wink.

Yes sorry OP, back pain can be excruciating, I hope you are getting comfortable.
