What happens at a gum clinic?

Just finished relationship with xp, I don't have any symptoms of an infection but want to get checked out just in case.
I'm very nervous about going

No need to be nervous, this is what the nurses do all the time, and they'll make it as easy as possible. They'll talk through everything with you

As CMOT says its the nurses job, they do it all day every day and will have heard most things so will be pretty unshockable!

They'll probably ask why you're there (symptoms or just a check-up) ask some about your sexual history and then do swabs (vaginal and possibly oral)

Its quick, reletively painless and theres no need to be embarrassed - worth it for a clean bill of health and peace of mind

They also popped one up my bottom!
