Hiya. Well I have same. I've suffered with pains in my mouth for years due to me grinding my teeth in my sleep. I started getting excruciating pain about a fortnight ago, pain my right jaw, neck, ear and head. Also my jaw is clicking and limited movement. I went to my dentist this evening, couldn't suffer the pain any longer. She says the pain is caused with muscle at the jaw and that my jaw is out of alignment. I also try to wear a splint when I'm sleeping and when I put it on last night I felt as if my bottom jaw was pulling away to the right. So she's referring me to a doctor at the hospital as urgent, I just hope I get an appointment ASAP, can't go on like this. So it's painkillers, heat pads and soft foods for now.....

Could it be your wisdom teeth? Mine are still growing and cause my jaw to ache. Sometimes I can't open it wide enough to eat and it gives me earache. I told the dentist and she said she'll refer me to get them taken out, so I haven't mentioned it again. Grin

So maybe check with your dentist next.

No defo not my wisdom teeth, wish it was that easy....

She said its more than likely Temporomandibular joint disorder.

I had this for about a year dr and dentist said it was an imflamtion of the big jaw joint ( not sure of the name ) . I also grind my teeth and now have to wear a mouth guard ( very attactive ) i was given naproxen and zapain tablets. It was eased but stopping talking !!! Drove me mad i wanted to rip all my teeth out. On a good note it did eventually go .

Mouth guard is awful, I hate mine. But need to wear it, don't really think it helps
