Can anyone advise on what this could be? I will see the GP but in the mean time...

For the last week I've had real sudden onset nausea and lower abdo pain about 1-2 hrs after eating, lasts about 2 hrs, also been getting a lot of visual disturbance and dizzy spells, oh and a lot of wind Blush which I've never suffered with before!

Might not be relevant but DS3 is 10 weeks old, ebf, he too has become awfully windy and posseting a lot more.
I started slimming world on the 1st Jan, I eating and drinking 3 decent meals a day so no extreme dieting, I've lost 12 lbs.

Anyone have any ideas? It's making me a bit miserable!

I had similar with my stomach ulcer. have you seen the gp?

Zappo · 22/01/2013 21:18

I think Gallstones can cause pain and nausea after eating (particularly fatty/creamy foods) but think the onset is quite sudden

The visual disturbance/dizzyness sounds quite worrying though.

12lb in three weeks is a lot. Have you drastically increased your fibre intake (veg etc) as part of the diet? That could have caused an imbalance.
If it's lower Gi and quite windy it sounds more like IBS than ulcer, which is generally felt higher and straight after eating.

I had similar, but it was more upper abdomen so stomach related. I saw my GP and he has prescribed something to reduce acid in my stomach.

I was admitted to hospital whilst following Slimming World in the past!!
It just did not suit me at all. I was passing blood.
My guts like ale and bread and chocolate, which I alllow them in limited quantities. I had months when I could not eat salad.
Sounds like IBS, maybe?
Go to the doctors, if you aren't snowed in
Hope you feel better soon

I had this too. I lost 2.5 stone in a few months without trying. My pain was all around the bottom of my ribs and I was convinced it was my gallbladder. The dizziness was really strange and I still haven't got to the bottom of whether it was linked or not.

After many tests I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and given tablets to control it. I am much better now but I was quite shocked (as was my GP) that it wasn't my gallbladder.

Also later I had symptoms where I would nearly faint after eating and then have pains in my chest.
I was admitted to hospital to ascertain it wasn't my heart.
Acid reflux, and I was prescribed Omeprazole.
I controlitby eating small portions now.
I really hope you go to the doctors soon xx

I hope you didn't end up with the medication I'm on. I started it the day after I posted...I'm one of the 10% who suffers from TERRIBLE flatulence. I told DD, 3, that I didn't know what the eggy smell was. Blush
