sore cheeks, blocked nose, sore ears, sore neck, sore eyes... apparently this is something doing the rounds... if you have had it, tell me that it doesn't last long, the pain is awful!

Poor Elf. I've had it, lasted about 3 days

DP had it and lasted a week and a half

But thats bacause he is crap

Paracetamol and steam helped me

Hope feel better soon

Elf1981 · 22/04/2006 20:13

I am taking sudafed but was told to wait til after b.feeding to take it, so now DD has settled in for the night (I hope) I have taken one.
Not sure what is worse - the fact that my face is hurting, or the fact that I look like I've been smacked in the eyes as they're so dark!!
Yorkiegirl - thanks
Lact8 - steam, good idea, must try that! My mum had it and was bad for a few weeks, really cant face feeling like this for that long! Plus dont want DD to catch it!

If it started with an aching (not sore) throat then I've had it, and it lasted 6 weeks until I got fed up enough to go the doc. She said that I still had a temperature and gave me antibiotics and a nasal spray and it went away. Moral of the story, go to the doctor sooner rather than later. Smile

notasheep · 22/04/2006 21:26

Elf and pucca, its here too so tons of sympathy and get well soon. Its been 2 weeks for me and my head still feels full of snot!
Pharmacist said it was sinuses apparently

Elf1981 · 22/04/2006 21:29

Pucca - my sympathies! I remember being seriously sick when pregnant, must have been about 14 weeks, really bad flu. DH totted off to doctors to ask why I could have, came back with some honey and lemon syrup. I thought it was barbaric!
Passionflower - yes, started with a sore throat two days ago. Felt badly yesterday night, woke up this morning in terrible pain.

Serously go to the doctor then, the virus will run it's course pretty quickly but probably leave you with an infection that will need treatment. DH had it too but went to the doc straight away. Don't be an idiot like me and leave it for 6 weeks. It's nasty.

Hope you feel better soon.Smile
